Testing & Education Reference Center (TERC) contains descriptions of 30,000 graduate and professional education programs in more than 300 academic disciplines offered by more than 1500 accredited colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. Corresponds to the six-volume Peterson’s Annual Guide to Graduate Study. Taking a college entrance or licensing exam? Looking for a college or graduate school? Need help finding scholarships? Use this database to search thousands of college and graduate school entries. Identify scholarships that meet financial needs. Take online practice tests and use test prep eBooks to obtain education goals. 

TERC includes:

  • Test prep: Full-length, timed practice exams that simulate the actual testing experience for GED, AP, ISEE, COOP, SSAT, CLEP, FCAT, SAT, ACT, PSAT, TAKS, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, MAT, TOEFL, TOEIC, U.S. citizenship, and many others exams. Diagnostic pre-tests help students determine where they stand and how much preparation they need before taking an exam.
  • College planning: Intuitive searches and quick results deliver information on more than 4,000 accredited schools, including school location, tuition, academics, admission requirements, campus life and much more.
  • Financial aid tools: Benefit from an undergraduate scholarship search, financial aid award analyzer, college savings calculator, tuition cost finder and more.
  • Career development: The Resume Builder and Virtual Careers Library tools assist students in building essential career skills—like how to build a resume, cover letter and interviewing tips for users at all career stages. Using the Career Module, tests help users map interests and aptitudes to the most suitable job categories, industries, and occupations.
  • International tools: Helps individuals prepare to pass the TOEFL (iBT), TOEFL (PBT), TOEIC and U.S. Citizenship tests with online practice tests and eBooks.

TEL Link Generator for Library Staff

Use the TEL Link Generator to create customized TEL database URLs for your library. These URLs are unique to your library, allow you to collect usage statistics for your institution, and include geolocation authentication so your patrons can access TEL resources without entering a username or password. For each TEL vendor, enter your library’s account information (e.g., Location ID for Gale; Token for ProQuest Tennessean) and click Go. Simply copy and paste the URLs when building your library's web site.

Need a location ID? 

If your library is not a registered library with TEL and does not have a location ID, email By registering your library location, you will be able to create direct urls for resources and collect usage statistics for your library.
